One day for the memory. Historical routes of the Memorial Museum of the Exile

Would you like to experience, at firsthand, which role did the landscape and the villages from Alt Empordà had played during the Exile period in 1939? The Memorial Museum of the Exile MUME organizes historic routes in order to discover on-site the relationship between the villages, the mountain and the exile.

Children and adults could visit the Center for the Interpretation of the Cultural and Catalan Exile located in Agullana (4-4-21), the monuments located in La Vajol and Coll de Manrella (2-5-21), Dani Karavan’s monument addressed to the memory of the philosopher Walter Benjamin located in Portbou (12-6-21), the Francos’s bunkers in La Jonquera (18-7-21) or discover Collioure, a town in Roussillon near the border, where the poet Antonio Machado lived his last weeks, and where he was buried (12-9-21).
