One day for the memory. Historical routes of the Memorial Museum of the Exile

Would you like to experience, at firsthand, which role did the landscape and the villages from Alt Empordà and Catalunya Nord had played during the Exile period in 1939? The Memorial Museum of the Exile MUME organizes one day a month an historic route in order to discover on-site the relationship between the villages, the mountain and the exile.

Children and adults could visit the Elne Swiss Maternity Hospital, the concentration camp of Argelès, the Mina Canta in the La Vajol forest, a little red area in Agullana, Collioure following the steps of the poet Antonio Machado, the bunkers from La Jonquera and Dani Karavan’s monument addressed to the memory of the philosopher Walter Benjamin located in Portbou, among other places of special historical interest.
